I have started reflecting on the choices I have made in both life and business and wanted to share with you about one of those choices and how it worked out.

My daughter recently graduated from 5th grade.  I started to think back to our decision to put her in a public school system.  For her first 4 years of school she was in a private school but we weren’t satisfied with the curriculum and started discussing putting her in public school.  In our area, the public school system is award winning and I had conversations with everyone I knew that sent their children there.

My husband said to me one day that with all we teach our daughter about how to handle things we should put her in an environment with the most possibilities, which would be this public school system.

A few days later, my third grade daughter came to me in my office and gave me all the pluses to going to the new school.  She laid out the benefits to each issue that she could think of.  I just looked at her and couldn’t believe she was so wise at such a young age.

At her recent graduation I asked her how she felt about the decision to change schools a couple years ago and she was so happy.  She told me that she was happiest about the choice that she got to make on what school to go to.

Now I ask you…what small business choices are you making…and are they the right ones for you?In our business every day there are new decisions to make and multiple choices in front of us for different paths to pursue.
•    Add a Joint Venture
•    Add an affiliate program
•    Work on a new product
•     Hire additional staff

Even in a large corporation, there are small business choices to make.  Not only do we have large choices in our business but small choices each day.

I have found through my daughter that you need to always take a step back in business and life and really think through the issue and list the benefits in order to make the right choice for your business.

I began to address the inner aspect of this idea in my last post, and I’d like to delve into it deeper – both because I understand that place of feeling like technology is your worst nightmare in your business, and because I’ve had several people come to me with that same struggle recently.

My bottom line is, I really believe that you need to find your strengths and play to your strengths – if something is not your strength, get someone else to do it!

I am not what you’d call a technology maven – it’s just not something that’s a natural ability for me.

My daughter has to do the VCR and the tVO – I still can’t figure out how to get the tvo activated!  I have to go to my 11-year old and say, “Here, can you show me how to do this? Can you program this? Can you turn the sprinklers on? Can you program that?”…yeah, I can’t do any of that stuff.

But I don’t care – I just make sure I have people around me that can do it! If you’re not a technical person, you need to just accept it.  Come to a place of acceptance: “I’m not a technical person and I need to find other people to do it. I need to create systems for other people to do it; I need to engage other people in ways so that they’ll be willing to do it – all so I can do the things I’m better at!”

If someone were to say to me, “You need to learn how to do HTML”, I would respond, “I would rather have a root canal!” That kind of thing gives me no joy – I don’t care about it at all!

I used to feel like I needed to know how to do these things because I have a business that uses these technological aspects.  It was kind of along the lines of how can I be sure it’s done right?

But I really let go of that and said, “You know what, it’s not my brilliance. I’m going to find people that are brilliant at it or create ways that I don’t need to have that particular aspect, and trust that I’ll attract the right people that will do it well for me.”

It’s all about finding where your brilliances are – and you know if you’re technical or not! It’s like the idea of being ‘just a little’ pregnant – you’re either technical, or you’re not!

There are degrees of technical ability, but I still believe that anything you can delegate, you should. Find a way to make it into a system, and focus the rest of your energy on the one thing you’re brilliant at.

That idea comes from Mark Victor Hansen’s book, The Power of Focus. I read it a number of years ago, and in it he said we’re all good at one thing. If you focus 90% of your energy on that one thing and delegate everything else, you will see your income go through the roof, and you’ll never have to worry about money again.

When you’re putting all your energy into something like that, that you’re not only good at, but you love doing – can you imagine where that puts you vibrationally?

• You believe you’re good at it
• You are good at it
• Therefore you’re even better at it
• AND you feel good about it!

You’re now in total vibrational alignment with Manifestation – nothing is going to hold you back from that online business opportunity!

The other thing I will say when it comes to technology (if you’re in the same boat as I am), is find a good technology mentor.

I need to have people that can translate my needs to the technical people – because I can’t even talk to the technical people! They speak a different language, so I need to have people that can say, “OK, I live over here in the world of Marketing and I also live over here in the world of Geekdom, and I can bridge that gap for you.”

Begin creating the connections with people that can do that and finding technology mentors – don’t try to do it all by yourself!

Finally, know your abilities.

For example, think of putting together a shopping cart for your website.

One person might say, “Oh, that doesn’t seem to complicated…it’s not too big a deal. It looks like you just hook up the autoresponder, do this, do that, go in and do that – it’s easier than I thought!”

If that’s the kind of person you are, you can be the one to go and take the teleseminar on how to set up autoresponders with your shopping cart!

On the other hand, if you’re the kind of person who looks at a shopping cart and thinks, “Oh my goodness, that would take me twenty times longer than anyone else…it makes me feel glazed over even thinking about it!” – then don’t even attempt it!

When it comes to your online business opportunity, don’t get stuck in a box of thinking that you have to do it yourself, or that you can’t attract the right people to support and help you with those elements.

And that really IS less complicated than you think!

I’ve talked to many Spiritualpreneurs who seem to have a great fear of running the online aspect of their business, but (and this is coming from a real ‘techno-phobe’ here), having an online business is a lot less complicated than you may think it is!

Having any kind of business starts first at the Inner level – and if you don’t believe you can know what you’re doing when it comes to running your business online, there are a lot of other piggybacking beliefs that are riding on that…

• I don’t have what it takes
• I’m not good at technology
• Everybody else knows more than me
• I don’t have the time
• I glaze over when it comes to learning things like this…

You’ve got all these things rolling around inside your head – it’s sort of like Prego Spaghetti Sauce – ‘It’s all in there’!

So the first thing you want to do is get clear on what the beliefs are that you’re telling yourself – get really honest with yourself – what are you telling yourself about why you can’t have an online business?

Then, while you’re putting together your small business plan, start to identify the areas that you feel like you need more support on. If you’re feeling like, “Oh I just don’t understand blogging. Social Networking – it gives me a headache! I don’t get how to do this or that…”

Well, start out with identifying the areas YOU think are important to having in an online business, and anywhere that you feel you are lacking.

You also want to identify the areas you feel belong in an online business that you really do feel like you have some sense about, because there are things that are really serving you at an inner level with your beliefs, and at an outer level you do have competencies and skill sets and brilliances that are serving you.

People tend to focus on everything they can’t do, everything that don’t know how to do, everything that’s confusing or overwhelming – but you have to remember that for everyone that says they can’t do an online business, there are both inner and outer level reasons you have to address in areas that are both serving you and not serving you.

It’s very important to look at it from both sides.

A good starting point for having an effective online business, whether you understand all the ‘technology’ involved or not, is to simply map it out. Take a piece of paper and make a flow chart.

• OK, someone comes to my blog or website. What happens?
• What do I want them to experience?
• What do I want to have occur?

Map it out all the way down to all the different levels of all the different things you want to offer. Think of it as your online small business plan.

Online business are often based in having an effective profit funnel – you introduce yourself to people through free or lower end products and begin building relationships and credibility, eventually going all the way up through to higher end products – programs, seminars, continuity programs – it goes all the way through.

What you want to do is look at it from YOUR perspective. Get clear on who your ideal customer or client is, what their problems and issues are, and then set something up that you yourself would be excited about in terms of this profit funnel.

Why do it that way?

Well most people go out and think, “What would the people out there want?”

But the truth is, you are your best target market. Why are you in the business you are in? I am betting that it is because you have a real connection with the problem or issue that you are aiming to solve. You have an emotional, passionate connectivity with your product or service and the people you are offering it to.

If you don’t have this kind of authenticity, you may want to reconsider the business you’re in! It’s kind of like, if you’ve never had a problem with your weight, but you’re coaching people on weight issues, how can you really know what they’re going through? How can you really empathise with that?

Are you going to coach parents if you don’t have children? Are you qualified to be a marriage counselor if you’re not married? Is it OK to sell a product that you don’t like or you don’t believe in?

I feel very strongly about this that if you are offering a product or service, you have a real, authentic connection to what it is and who it is going to. My husband and I went to a relationship seminar and I said to him, “This guy better be married!”

I’ve been married for almost 20 years – I don’t want someone that has been married for 3 years telling me how to be married. Well, this seminar leader had been married for 34 years. And it was his first marriage. I stayed.

What it comes down to is that people often talk about creating an online business like it is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. The idea is that you’ll hit on the right idea, start it up and then instantly get rich and not have to work anymore.

I’m here to tell you, that’s just crazy. Any business requires work. If any business tells you that you can work an hour a day in the very beginning and make millions of dollars, you should run for the hills. It’s like saying you’re going to lose 50 pounds in a month, with no effort, eating the same way you do now, and no exercise. No way!

Your online business should be something that really excites you. If you’re at that point already, you simply need to start getting clear on the issues, challenges and beliefs you have about having an online business – where you feel you need support.

Then, map out the experience your ideal client or customer will have when they come to your website.

There are a number of pieces and steps to doing an online business, but it’s not really complicated. The most important thing is being clear on who your ideal customer or client is, what their issues and challenges are, and how you are going to solve those issues and challenges.

If you don’t have that you don’t have any kind of business!

There are as many ways to be successful in an online business as there are for losing weight, finding a mate, or being successful at anything in life. There’s no one right way to do it. You want to find the way that best fits you so that you can feel good about creating an online business.

Walk through the experience you want people to have – I want them to come to my site, this is the way I want them to experience me, this is the way I want them to experience my product, etc. Think about how you would want to have the experience – what would attract you? What would be exciting for you?

Don’t do something that doesn’t feel like a match for you. If you don’t feel good about it, you won’t be a match to anything.

You don’t have to listen to other people or allow them to confuse you or have you do things you don’t want to do. Map out what you would be aligned with, and you will begin attracting the solutions you need.

Create your small business plan so that you’re playing to your abilities and the strengths that come naturally to you, and the rest will follow…

I’ve talked to many people that have told me they are unhappy in their job – they want to leave but they’re not sure of the best way, or even if it’s a wise move – I mean, wouldn’t it be better to just stay and be miserable considering the economy?

Personally, I can really relate to being unhappy in your job – it’s what happened to me and how I ended up doing the work I’m in now.  I was VERY unhappy in my job!

I was a corporate executive, working about 90 – 100 hours a week.  I was never disconnected – I took my work home, took phone calls at home, and often worked late into the night.

I had this kind of Type-A, workaholic personality that pushed me to do all this, but I was so unhappy because I didn’t feel like I was doing anything that really made a difference.

In my experience, I’ve come to understand that if you are unhappy in your job to the point where you are looking for the proper way to quit a job, there is a real disconnect – an energetic misalignment with where you are right now.

Your job may have served you extremely well over the years, but now there is a disconnect and you want more.  It’s like you’ve launched some rockets – what I call Order Forms to the Universe – and you’ve basically launched an Order Form that says:

• I want to feel fulfilled in my work
• I want to enjoy the people I work with
• I want to make the kind of money that makes me happy – that pays my bills and luxuries
• I want more

The disconnect is that while you want more, you’re in a situation where you only keep focusing in on how you don’t have it, so what you get is a crashing against you’re current beliefs – there’s no way I can do it, I won’t be able to find anything new, etc.

For me it was along the lines of, “Who would ever pay me the kind of money that I am making now in any other career? I’m not really qualified to do anything else!”

The truth was, there were a lot of beliefs I had to shift – because it was my own beliefs that were actually holding that miserable reality in place for me!

If you’re wondering about the proper way to quit a job, know that it is first an energetic issue.

When I coach people that are unhappy in their current situation, my first advice is always: You’ve got to make peace with where you are.

The more you focus in on how unhappy you are in any situation, the more you’re going to continue activating that unhappiness and remaining in that current vibration. You’ll also have a higher likelihood of eliciting the same reactions from other people around you.

It becomes a vicious circle – the more unhappy you are in your job, the more unhappiness is going to show up for you, and you’ll keep finding more to be unhappy about in your work!

So begin by knowing that if you are unhappy in your work, it means that there is some kind of disconnect that simply means something more wants to be born. Start identifying the specific things that you’re unhappy about – the things that you don’t want to experience – because it is in knowing them that you can turn them around to what you do want to experience.

You can begin to get more clear on moving toward what you WANT (and you’re always clear about what you want when you’re in the middle of what you don’t want!)

Let it be OK that you’re unhappy in your work.  If you refuse to acknowledge your true feelings about it, it’s going to be like trying to put a big blanket over the giant pink elephant in the middle of the room.  It’s not changing the fact that the pink elephant is there!

Going hand in hand with that – if you just run off to another job while you’re unhappy in your current situation, you’ll only take your negative vibration with you. And you’ll only attract more of it because you haven’t solved the energetic issue!

You have to solve the energetic element first.

Begin with something tiny.  Start making a list of anything you can think of that you like about your current job.  You can write anything – things like, ‘They pay me.’ ‘They have nice carpeting here.’ ‘No one smokes around me’.

You’ve got to start finding those little pieces of things to appreciate – doing this is what will begin to activate higher vibrations to attract something better that you can now be in alignment with!

You can’t attract a wonderful new job with wonderful people that love what they’re doing when you are miserable and hate what you’re doing! You’re not a match – it’s not going to happen – they’re not going to pick you!

So many people think, “Oh I’ve just got to get out of this job or this marriage or this situation…” But the reality is that you can’t be a match to something new unless you’ve made peace with where you are to be able to attract something higher.

If you’re in a miserable marriage, you’re not going to be a match to a great new relationship.

You need to start BEING those qualities that you want in that new person or that new job, and then things will begin to naturally show up as matches to you.

• Someone at your work that gives you a hard time will stop or no longer be there
• Your boss will really begin to recognize your talents
• An opportunity will come up out of the blue for you to happily transition into something else…

And all of a sudden you’re loving your job!

BUT none of that is going to happen from your current vibration if you are only looking for a way to get out and focusing on how unhappy you are.  It’s all vibrational in nature.

I like to say, “It’s not them, it’s you!”

If you’re looking for the proper way to quit, begin by taking vibrational responsibility for yourself. Once you do that, you can start to be more in alignment with something more being attracted to you that is more of a match to what you say you want.

Otherwise, you’ll only keep recreating the same situations by repeating the same vibrations.  If you feel like you’re stuck in a rut, know that you are not stuck – you’re just repeating patterns and creating the same thing over and over again.

Change your vibrational output, and you will change your experiences to more of what you want!

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Content is King”?

When it comes to running your business, that phrase truly applies in every aspect of your marketing – and it’s actually an exciting part of being a Spiritualpreneur, because it’s a tremendous opportunity to offer great value to your subscribers (and potential subscribers) through the regular words that you are offering to them.

That being said, have you considered regularly contributing articles of great content and submitting them to be published online?

The importance of articles in today’s websites and internet based companies are immeasurable. It has actually become a key element in bringing profit to a business.

If you own or operate a website, it is important to include articles in your site that will work for you and earn you the many benefits articles can give to your business.

Why is this so important?

Articles have been known to be the driving force in sending traffic to a website. Articles factor heavily into giving a site high rankings in search engine results. The higher a site ranks the bigger slice of the traffic flow pie it gets. Increases in traffic flow bring about more profits and more potential for other income generating possibilities – including residual income.

But remember, it is not just about stuffing your site with articles!  There are certain requirements that should be met to obtain the maximum benefits that an article can provide for your site.

A well written article will catch the eye and interest of your subscribers and keep them coming back for more.  It can be a great service that you provide, and raises the potential of your site being recommended to others.

As you begin creating your articles, remember the following four tips that all articles should have to be successful and helpful in bringing overflowing traffic to your site!

• Keywords and Keyword Phrases

An article should always be centered around keywords and keyword phrases. This is because you don’t just want to get traffic coming to your site – you want to get targeted traffic – people that are looking for what you are offering.

It’s fairly basic – a searcher goes to a search engine like Google or Yahoo and types in the keywords they are looking for (i.e. Toyota Matrix, Common Cold Remedies, Tax Accountant, etc.).

The Important thing is that your article that has the keywords that are related to your site. For example, if you maintain an auto parts site, you will want to write articles about cars and their parts.

There are many tools on the internet that provide service in helping a webmaster out in determining what keywords and keyword phrases are most sought after (like Google AdWords). You can use these tools to determine which keywords you should use and write about.

• Keyword Density

Now that you have your keywords and keyword phrases, make sure to use them fully!  An article should have good keyword density so that a search engine can “feel” its presence. Articles should at least have 10 to 15% of keyword density in their content for search engines to rank them high in their search results. Getting a high rank is what articles do best for a site.

Keyword density is essentially the number of times a keyword or keyword phrase is used on an article.
This number varies depending on the number of words used in an article. An effective article must have a keyword density that is not too high or too low.

With a very high density, the essence of the article is lost and may turn off a reader (as well as the search engines). It comes off as overeager. A low number may be ignored by the search engines.

• Good Article Content

This is crucial! Make sure that you do not just riddle an article with keywords or promotion. Look at writing articles as a serving aspect of your business – and remember that you want them to be regarded as good reading material.

Articles should entertain and inform in a way that assist people in solving their problems and meeting their needs. They should be written well with correct spelling and good grammar. If you want people to trust you, take care to make your work good and well thought out.

People respond well to stories, figures, facts and statistics. Always give great information and support it with as many facts as you can. A good and well written article will boost your reputation as an expert in your chosen field or topic. As more people believe in you, they will be able to trust you and your products.

• Linking Articles

Finally, if you are going to submit articles to ezines and/or contribute your articles to newsletters and other sites, don’t ever forget to include a link to your site! Write up a little resource box with a brief description of your site and always place it at the end of your articles.

If people like your articles, they will most likely click on the link directing them to your site, thus bringing you the traffic you need to build your business!

That’s the best thing about contributing articles – once they’re written and submitted, they are now out there working for you to create residual income that only increases every time another person gets a chance to click on your article and see how you are serving them with great information!

You may have already heard of Joe Nunziata – a good friend, colleague of mine, and fellow Spiritualpreneur.

A couple of days ago I had the privilege of interviewing Joe on my Blog Talk Radio Show, Empowering Spiritualpreneurs, where we discussed how Joe moved gradually from the position of New York truck driver, to entrepreneur, to the Spiritual Seller that he is today.

What Joe teaches is so much in alignment with what you are learning here in the Spiritualpreneur Challenge and the blog, and it is always exciting to see further evidence of the power of using these transformative principles to achieve amazing success in life and business.

One of the things Joe and I discussed was how important it is to attract clients and customers not only based on how much money they have or how big their business is, but on their personal traits. 

Joe emphasized this huge part of being a Spiritual Seller or a Spiritualpreneur is that you are always wanting to blend both sides of someone – they may have great business, but does their character match up as well?

The way you want to come at it is, the people I want to work with should make me feel good about what I’m doing. Joe talked about how this is such an important part of building spiritual energy, and shared a story that very clearly illustrated this idea.

He said a woman called him on the phone and just jumped right in with very fast, very loud pitching – Oh you’re the best I want to work with you We can do so much Let’s talk Everyone’s recommended you We can work together and on and on!

Her energy was so frenetic and abrasive to him – and because he recognized this right away, he was able to respond, “You know, we’re just not a good match to be working together”.

The woman was not happy to hear that!  But it’s a part of the process of being where you want to be in sales and in your business – think about how many people would have just said yes and put up with that type of energy because they’re desperate for the sale?

Knowing who you are a match to work with is really what is going to transform everything you do in your business – it’s working out of abundance vs. fear – out of alignment rather than misalignment.

Joe says (and I fully agree) that attraction works that much better when you have a clear vision of exactly what you want to do and exactly what type of person you want to work with – because when you have this clarity, you are putting out that energy to attract people that really honor you.

If you don’t have this type of clarity, you can end up jumping through hoops, working with people that aren’t paying you, people that don’t make you feel good – and overall being miserable and living back in that idea that sales is hard and no fun and pushy and just something you don’t want to be doing.

The reality is, there is a better way – a way to not only enjoy all of this, but to be even more successful because of it, and it’s all about finding the vibrational match to you!

Joe suggested that you start to make a list:

• I want people to pay me on time
• I want people that respect me
• I want people that value me
• I want someone that is reliable

Write down everything that you want in this ideal client or customer, and remember that it works in the reverse as well – if you want to attract all of those things, it is equally as important that you BE all of those things!

So – Spiritual Seller – Spiritualpreneur: Remember – getting the sale is not the most important part of selling.

The experience that you have (and that your customer or client has) is just as important as the end result.
Making a conscious effort to recognize and apply this will truly make everything about your business and about selling more enjoyable for you!

When I began applying Spiritualpreneur principles in my business, everything began working almost magically!!

I was seeing EVIDENCE! – tangible results! My Coaching program grew and grew, and I began to really understand that my spiritual guidance – my connection to God, my Inner Coach, Spirit (or whatever you choose to call that energy) was my only true Source.

I saw that every person has been given Divine Laws to live by – and that these laws require you to take responsibility for what you are thinking, feeling, speaking and acting because of how it affects your vibration and therefore what you attract into your life!

You do truly reap what you sow! Now all these phrases make sense to me!

What a ride it has been so far! It has not all been smooth, and I am coming to really know that is part of the process of Life. I now understand that, when it seems to be less than smooth, it is merely contrast.

Contrast is simply me wanting to create something new, and that at some level I am not believing it yet!

As I work with my Inner Coach, and apply the tools of Spirit Coaching, I daily allow myself to loosen any old vibrations that may seem to block me, and as I surrender the specific outcome of whatever I am wanting, it eventually shows up! Most times in even grander ways than I ever imagined!!

When I was first learning how to trust the spiritual guidance I was receiving more and more, a feeling of peace was always prevalent. I still struggled with fears at times – the same fears that plague all entrepreneurs – so I asked for a tool to help me release these fears, and I was given another “prescription”.

I was told to see myself on a huge mountain, surrounded by angels and all kinds of Divine Helpers. I was told to look deep into the eyes of the one known as my guardian helper and to fall backwards!

In my mind, I took a step towards what looked like the edge of the mountain, and looking deep into the eyes of my guardian angel I fell off backwards! I never fell – I flew!!! We just flew around and were laughing and all the Helpers were kissing me and holding me!

They told me this would help me to activate the knowingness of this next step at a cellular level, along with the skills I would need in serving in this higher way. I took a deep breath and allowed this visual image to continue, and I felt so much LOVE and Support!

By seeing it on the inner planes, they told me I would already have a memory of it working out fine because on the inner planes, as I asked for Divine Help, I could not and would not fall. They told me that this was called an inner healing journey, and was not a visualization.

Visualizations, which occur more in the mind, are distinctly differently from an inner healing journey. I had actually experienced this on the ‘inner planes’ of reality by my intention and desire. They said that this would be a key distinction in the work of Spirit Coaching for those called to use Inner Healing Journeys with their clients.

With that profound deep feeling of support, I agreed to this next level of service. I affirmed and was guided to state out loud, “I agree to do this work of Spirit. I am on God’s payroll and all I need to know, have, or do, is given to me NOW.”

A couple of years ago I went through a time that was quite uncharacteristic for me – I was sick in bed! In fact, I felt so terrible that I couldn’t even lift my head.

It was made worse by the fact that I had a planning meeting scheduled for Saturday with a client, and there was no way I was going to be able to make it!

At first, this was a huge contrast for me.  When you’re self-employed, it seems like you just can’t afford to be sick!

I had to manage my energy around it.  I allowed myself to flow with that and realized that this was a point where self-care really was the most important thing for me.

I called my client and explained that I wouldn’t be able to make the meeting. And while I was speaking with the client, something just came to me!

I had been focusing all my thoughts on this day and on holding the energy–and out of my mouth came the words, “I have an idea. How about we pre-pave the energy for your meeting?”

I gave him instructions about how to take the group through the planning meeting, and because I was going to be lying in bed all day,  I told him I would hold energy for them.

Then I said, “If at the end of the day, you can feel the energy, then pay me. If not, then don’t pay.”

At the end of the day, I received a fax that said, “The planning meeting was incredible. I’d be happy to pay for what you did today!”

When I was trapped in the whole idea of, “I can’t be sick – I’m self-employed!  This isn’t like me; I have to push my way through…” etc, etc., there was no way I would have been able to come up with a next inspired action.

I was too tangled up in the energy of the contrast!

But, when I was able to manage my energy even a little bit – laying back and accepting that there was nothing I could do but rest in a time that called for rest, I was able to receive the guidance that I needed and have everything turn out in a way that was better than I could have possibly expected – after all, I ended up getting paid to lay in bed!

Inspired Actions are stepping stones along our Spiritual Journeys.

You can know that you have received an Inspired Action because of its ease and effortlessness. You can then complete them joyously without difficulty or frustration.

Inspired Actions:

• May sometimes seem huge – like changing careers
• Or they might seem small, like taking a nap in the middle of the day

As you go about your day as a Spiritualpreneur, remember to keep your heart and mind open for your next Inspired Actions – you may be surprised at the things that come up for you!
