Before you begin with something like starting a pilot program, it’s important to surface up beliefs, patterns, and actions that are serving you regarding your own business offering by using and integrating energy management tools to really pre-pave what it is that you want to do.
When you read this excerpted transcription of a coaching session I had with a business owner about using these tools, really let it help you activate some new patterns and progressive beliefs regarding your own business.
This will also help you to see that you are not alone in what you may be struggling in!
Jane: Lately I really, truly believe that I have something to offer.
Me: That’s awesome. Did you hear that? Lately, I truly believe. You’ve activated that at a cellular level! That’s awesome – because before that you were like, I think I have something to offer, but will anybody pay me for me for it?
You were sort of ping ponging energy back and forth. I really want you to celebrate this because it is huge. When you get aligned with, “I’ve got something to offer”, it starts to make perfect sense, and now you’re just working out the details. That is huge.
Ok, what else? What other beliefs? What’s another belief that is serving you about your business?
Jane: I’ve come to the conclusion of what my core value offer is, and I believe that it is as a financial healer. I’ve really gotten in touch with that.
Me: So wonderful. That differentiates you from every other financial person out there that although that is your knowledge vehicle, you really are like a financial healer. That’s a whole new branding!
I’ve come to understand from contrasts of all sorts that what I’m doing is assisting people in healing themselves. As soon as you start creating words, you’re on your way. What is a financial healer? Have you heard anyone call it a financial healer? The universe is giving it to you!
So what am I? I’m a financial healer? It gets the action going! What other beliefs are serving you?
Jane: One more – that I have value.
Me: Oh, wow. I actually have value. I know you have value to your husband and kids. You always know you have value there. But now, what is it about? I have value in the marketplace?
Jane: Yes.
Me: Well, now that gives me goose bumps. Look at all of those three really lining up. As a coach, I’m always amplifying the beliefs that are serving a client, right? Why am I doing that, Jane? Why am I amplifying that for you?
Jane: It supports me and it brings my energy up so I really can feel it. Right now I can go out of this session and I’d be pretty high for awhile.
Me: And, it’s acknowledging you.
When you tell me a belief that’s serving you, the way I’m amping it up is two ways.
- One, I’m acknowledging the greatness of you and giving you energetic pats on the back for standing in this place and fully activating it.
- I’m also amplifying it by giving you the implication of that activation.
Now, the beliefs and patterns that may not be serving you as well.
Jane: The fear of rejection.
Me: What does that mean? What does that look like for you? Is it more like, “I’ll be talking to people about my program and they won’t want it?”
Jane: Exactly.
Me: So that really has to do more with your sales approach and sales process. Yeah, not serving you fully yet! So, “I don’t think I’m very good at enrolling people into things.”
Jane: Right.
Me: “I don’t like it. I don’t think I’m very good at it.” Am I on the mark?
Jane: Exactly!
Me: Now, can you see how I went from “rejection” being a big broad wide scope of a belief that may not be serving you?
What I do want to do is get it down deeper and deeper till I really understand the story that you’re telling yourself. Why is it useful to really drill that down?
Jane: It can be so many different things and if you don’t pinpoint it, you don’t express it in a way that you can release it. Rejection can be broad.
Me: Exactly! I want people to drill it down for themselves. Being able to language something is the first step in feeling that you have control over it.
All right, so give me on other one.
Jane: Being so hard on myself with little mistakes that I make here and there. It doesn’t serve me. I know.
Me: So what does that mean? If you have an error in your Ezine, or what?
Jane: No, no, not the typos. When I speak to people and I say something that makes me feel like just kicking myself.
Why did I say it that way?
And after I get off of the call with someone I’ll go over and over that thing and think, “If I just would have done it this way and not that way”.
Me: So it really is related to your sales process.
Jane: Yeah.
Me: So, it’s not feeling as confident in conversational process, perhaps…you’re being hard on yourself, second guessing.
Jane: Yeah.
Me: So, a belief that doesn’t serve me as well is, “Second guessing myself after I’ve had a conversation with someone who is interested in working with me.” Does that land it for you?
Jane: Yeah.
Me: So, you’ve got two. Second guessing, and judging or beating up. Is it more beating up or second guessing?
Jane: Beating up.
Me: So, beating myself up after a conversation with someone that I thought was interested in working with me. And then what was the other one?
Jane: The one that we said before the sales process?
Me: Yeah.
Jane: Second guessing, beating myself up.
Me: What was the one before that?
Jane: The sales process.
Me: Specifically, in your words. The belief that is not serving you is, “I don’t feel that I have a good sales process”.
Jane: I don’t feel like I’m good at sales.
Me: Yes. That was it. I don’t feel like I’m good at sales. And that makes you……beat yourself up?
Jane: That’s right.
Me: Ok, so those are the two. Now, what I want to do is create a progressive belief. Picture it like being a kid on a playground – you’re going to jump onto a Merry-go-Round that’s already in motion.
I’m going to throw out some progressive beliefs. A progressive belief is something that feels a tiny little bit better. You don’t want to try to jump over the Grand Canyon!
I don’t feel good about sales.
Let’s create a new belief. I feel great about sales.
No I don’t. That’s too far of a jump. You can’t vibrationally jump that far. The point is to get something a little higher. It’s up to you determine what’s a little bit higher and it’s based on what you feel.
You can feel the energy running in your body if you resonate with it. So here’s what’s going to happen. You’re going to have this image of trying to get on that Merry-go-Round, and you can close your eyes and imagine it if you like, of you running around getting that momentum built up. I’m going to give you some progressive beliefs and one of three things is going to happen.
- One, you’ll get on like a gymnastics landing.
- Or, the momentum of that belief that I threw out there will crash against your current belief that is activated and you’ll go flying off into the bushes. It depends on how fast the momentum is going.
- Or, you might just be hanging on by just your hands and sort of being dragged along. So you’re not on quite yet. But only you can tell.
I’ll throw some out that come to me and I’ll say, did that one get you. When you’re on you say yeah, absolutely. You can hear it.
If you think, “No, that wasn’t it”, I’ll just keep ramping it down.
You are going to get to the point of attracting a progressive belief that’s going to serve you for to move up a little bit more and a little bit more until you can look back and be like, “What? I said I didn’t like selling? Are you kidding me?
I love talking to people! I’ve got a great process! I get 40-50% every time I talk to people. That’s my average and it feels good and they feel good and I’m an answer to their prayer and they’re an answer to my prayer. It’s great!
We’re not quite there yet, but we’re going to get there.
Jane: OK.
Me: So, start with the first one. Start your running. Now, the first one is, “I don’t feel that I’m good at sales and I beat myself up for it”.
So, you’re running now. I’m going to throw something out there. How about, “I want to believe that I can have a process that feels good for me and for the person I talk to.” Now, did you get on?
Jane: No.
Me: So now I’ll ramp it down and move into a different direction.
I want to believe that someday I’ll believe that I have a way to talk to people that easily brings them into my work. Now, did you get on?
Jane: Half on.
Me: So Jane, is your leg hanging off?
Jane: Yes.
Me: Ok, that’s really good progress! You’re almost on. What’s ramping that down just a little bit more so that you can get fully on?
How about, “I want to heal anything that prevents me from believing that I can have a selling process that feels good for me and for the person I’m talking to.”
Jane: That’s definitely closer. I do want to believe that. I want to heal those.
Me: So, “I want to believe that I can heal, to be able to believe that I have a process that easily brings people into my work that want to pay me.” Now, did you get on?
Jane: Yeah, I got on, because that’s it! My background in the financial process and the sales process was awful. I have to get over that.
Me: Great! Now, see if you can condense it enough so that it still feels good and you’re still on the Merry-go-Round. “I want to heal whatever prevents me from believing that I can do sales in a way that feels good for me.”
Jane: Yes.
Me: And produces results.
Jane: Yes.
Me: Yes, yes, yes!
You’re fully on. Are you on with your arms over your head so you don’t have to hold on?
Jane: Whoo hoo! Yeah, I’m on.
Me: Great! What you’ll do now is, you will use this progressive belief in your daily scripting. Your daily scripting will say, “Today I want to heal whatever prevents me from believing that I can do sales in a way that feels good for me and produces great results.”
And then you can expand it. “I want to let go of all of my old experiences with sales in the financial industry and how awful that was.”
I’ve coached lots of people from the financial industry and that is like a pressure cooker experience. Lots and lots of cold calling. Really just hammering people too, right?
Janet: Yes. Absolutely.
Me: And then, you can expand it even more because more stuff will start to come up.
Now you’re looking for positive evidences of you feeling better and better about it. You’re doing your perceptual shifting about it and what happens is, maybe on day three, you’ll go to write it and you write it again. And you’ll say, “I am healing”.
OH, wait. It’s not that I want to heal. I am healing!
And all of the sudden it’ll be a breakthrough and it’ll be that it doesn’t fit anymore. If you were spinning around again you wouldn’t get on with this one because you’ve amped it up. You’d say. “Wait, I am healing. I am starting to even believe it!” So you amp it up when you feel the shift.
And then it’ll be this amazing moment when you’ll say, “Oh my gosh! I’ve shifted. I’ve moved!” And what’s useful about that?
Jane: If you can shift, you’re in a totally different place.
Me: If you can shift it a little bit, then you can shift it a little bit more and a little bit more until it’s fully true for you. Right?
Clients laugh when I say to them, “I really want to believe that I someday could believe that maybe I could possibly ever.” I use all of these qualifying terms.
But you’ve got to start from some place.
Now you have a progressive belief that is addressing your energy blueprint of the beliefs and patterns that are not serving you as well, that are most triggered for you. Is that making sense?
Jane: Yes.
Me: OK. So what was useful about this process for you, Jane?
Jane: I think the visualizing part. I was really running and thinking and really processing what you were saying because this is definitely an issue. I kept thinking that I need to believe that I can learn how to do sales.
That doesn’t resonate though, because I’ve learned how to do sales, but it’s the wrong way. I don’t want to do it that way. This really resonates with me.
Me: Now go do an Order Form, a short version Order Form about your amazing, feel good selling process.
This has lined you up now enough to now be able to do that and now you can get clear on:
- What you don’t want
- What you do want
- The categories
- How you will feel
- How they will feel
- And then you can construct your selling process in a way that really, really feels good for you.
Now, when you think about putting together a selling process in this new way that really breaks you through and assists you in healing from these experiences from the past, how do you feel about it?
Jane: I feel much better. I feel more relaxed and calm about the process.
Me: Now, when we first started, you were saying, “I’m really not good at sales.” That was pretty high. You were feeling really triggered about that. Check in now. What would you say the number was when you first started?
Jane: It was about a 9. It was pretty high up there.
Me: Now, just sort of feel around a little bit. Check in now and see if that shifted at all.
Jane: It shifted down a couple of notches. It’s probably a 6.
Me: That’s a BIG energetic shift. If you can make that big of an energetic shift in such a short period of time, imagine what will happen if on a daily basis you’re really putting focus on it and incorporating it into your scripting, noticing when you get pushed off and you do your perceptual shifting.
It’s all about managing it in the moment. That’s the whole thing.
You can have the best support in the world, but no one can vibrate for you.
When you’re doing this with these progressive beliefs, you’re going to feel it change and you’ll see it change. You can literally go from one day to the next and say, “I am healing. I actually am starting to believe it. I’m not where I was yesterday.”
That’s really powerful. A big shift happens and you get people into this process so they can see it. They’ll be emailing you and calling you and sending you messages at 2:00 AM!
Well, does that situation sound familiar to any of you reading this out there?
If this is resonating with you, start to understand that it is not that difficult to do this process for yourself, in your own business. It truly is all about managing yourself at an energetic level.

Hi Sharon,
I am just now starting a business on the internet, so, this post really struck me to the core! I really liked what you said about “Inner and Outer processes”. That distinction made a light bulb go off in my head. It allowed me to separate out a big “messy pile” of things to do into an organized system to accomplish my goals.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
David
Whoo hoo! Yeah, I’m on.from indonesia
David, it is an absolute joy to read your words!
My whole motivation is to help people see that “light bulb”, so it is a great affirmation to hear this from you.
I wish you many blessings in your business, and hope that you continue to find valuable help and advice in the blog!
Thank you David!!
Moel,
Thanks for visiting the blog! I hope that you find it useful! I wish a wonderful day to you.
Hi Sharon -
I find all the examples of a coaching session so helpful. We rarely talk about “healing” our thoughts and feelings. But this is what needs to happen. It is so easy to be negative about oneself – and then you get frozen and can’t move, or worse. Your path for change is such a gentle path. I remember when I was in graduate school the “big new” way to handle counseling included the professors putting you down about your coaching technique and telling you how deficient you were until you cried. Can you imagine? That is why I never went into counselling. It’s barbaric.
How friendly this method is! How kind! The Chinese character for the word “gentle” has two pictographs in it – one is the pictograph for “a river,” and the other is of a “leaf.” So it has “a leaf floating on the river” as the root parts of the word “gentle.” I thought of it when I learned this wonderful tool, because the leaves float down the river gently with no effort – a progressive float to a new spot of greater connection with spirit.
Thank you Sharon!
Elyn
