What Does it Mean to do Joint Ventures Backwards?

The approach that I like to take when developing any kind of program is to reverse-engineer – or reverse-create – it by starting at the end and going backwards.

You start by really thinking about the gap for your clients or customers that your product or service will address – begin with what you are going to offer to your vibrationally matched clients and everything has to seed back to that.

When I created my in-person workshop and marketing venture called Heavenly Meals, it was very successful because it identified and focused on a real gap; it brought together the “right” team to address the gap; it attracted Joint Venture partners to support the project, and then I was able to easily market a well-organized workshop to the market.

After just a short time, I was able to sell this business for a profit and move on to other ventures.

Most people get tangled when they try to write a workshop (or a teleseminar or an interview) because they see a blank page and try to figure out what they are going to present or teach.

You don’t have to do this!

You can fast forward to the end of your presentation and:

  • Examine the problems/issues for your ideal client or group
  • Identify what their challenges are
  • Then identify what your solutions are to those challenges

When you can clearly see the gap for them, you can then easily create solutions to offer for their challenges.

This is creating starting from the end and moving toward the introduction.  You can think, “Now I will work backwards and create the element that will support them taking a next action and will activate in them that what I am offering to them is a solution”.

This really leverages your time and energy.

What’s so great about reverse creating your in–person workshop is that you are simply activating the gap and seeding.  By following this process, you will see that by the end of the workshop they are saying, “I want this, I need this”, and it is a totally irresistible offer.

All you have to do is think about what programs you have and what would be an amazing offer for them.  From there you can create all the different pieces of the workshop that would support it.

The onsite workshop is a 90-minute to two-hour free, local workshop where you are actually live in-person.   It gives you exponential opportunities to energetically tap your potential ideal clients’ senses so you can even more deeply connect with them.

I always say that there are 2 elements to any business venture – the Inner and Outer.  When you can identify the inner and outer values of your in-person workshop, it will assist you at even greater levels as you reverse-engineer the entire project.

Some of the Inner Values of creating the onsite workshop to market your product or service are:

Conducting an in-person workshop is FUN because you get to do something exciting in front of people who you love. You are connecting to your life’s purpose!

You get a real energy boost yourself from being in that experience physically with people.  You can feel their energy because they are right there with you; it is palpable.

Once you’ve done one in-person workshop with 10 people, it is no different than doing it for 10,000 people!  Always think of it as connecting with the energy of that one person – your one ideal client.

It activates and builds your confidence because you get to physically see the responses and the enthusiasm that people are giving you, along with connecting with their energy, which is more powerful in person.

By completing the workshop and having clients sign up for what you have to offer, you’ve activated a greater sense of possibility for revenue.

It is hard to keep going down the same neural pathway of “I can’t do this”, if you’ve activated the possibilities for new revenue production.

Now, the Outer Values:

When you are physically present with people, you have the opportunity for an interactive component that you don’t have in a teleseminar format when you have large numbers of people on a call.

You have the opportunity for partners to share and for audience members to share with the group.  It is a great opportunity and method for people to express how they feel or what they experience.

You have to work much harder at a teleseminar – they don’t have as much of an obligation to you when they are listening to you on the phone – they can always just hang up!

In an in-person workshop, it is more about the participants doing things.  They share with each other and then group-share.  In the teleseminar, it is up to you to create the experience – you are it.

In a workshop, because you have an interactive group, it is more like we are all accountable for the show; we are all co-creating the experience.

Since people will actually be IN your energy field, the experience is much more powerful than a teleseminar in terms of people purchasing what you have. You are able to hold their attention longer and more deeply.  It is all about creating an experience for your attendees and yourself.

Sales success rates can go up exponentially. Experienced teleseminar leads average 20-25% sales completion for their vibrational match customers.   For people with a lot of experience with in-person seminars, their close rate can be 50%!

Remember – be gentle with yourself as you are beginning this process.  For your first seminar, don’t necessarily expect 50%, but it will be higher than your teleseminar close rate.  Give yourself time; you will build up to that.

People can make 6 figures plus doing workshops like this. Look at the numbers.  If you get 100 people in a room and are selling a program for $399, say 30% purchase the first time out (30 people purchase = $12,000).

It isn’t that hard to do, especially if you have JV partners with people on their list who are vibrational matches for you and your program.  People come to workshops expecting to buy things.

This is a viable, powerful income stream.  Think about how you can leverage your time with this.  If you do one workshop a month at $12,000, then one year is six figures.  And that is only one possible income stream for you!

When you are doing a Joint Venture locally, you do pretty much the same thing as you do when getting Joint Venture bonus offers for your teleseminar.  The difference – and the good news – is that you can get various people to give you local goodies, like restaurants, spas, nail salons, massages, etc., that you know people would love.

The businesses of all of these local people can then be promoted in exchange for them promoting your workshop.  You could say something like – “Come to our free workshop and get over $300 in goodies from our local vendors” - and then list them out in the copy.

You can ask your potential JV partners to send out a direct mailer for you, or you can do it for them.  You simply negotiate who will do it.  You can give them a sample of the actual postcard you will be sending out and you can offer to pay for it.  They will think, “Gosh, why wouldn’t I do this – it is so easy!”

You will need to put energy into it.  When you’ve done it once, you can use your same template over and over again.

A leading entrepreneurial business magazine recently indicated that the hottest marketing trend is Joint Ventures.  They reported that any current business not doing Joint Ventures and who doesn’t have plans to expand their Joint Venture will be left in the dust.

When you’re managing your energy, doing business from an inner and outer level, and continuing to think of new and innovative ways to co-create with Joint Venture partners, you’ll never be left behind!

If you want to hear more about this concept and how being a Spiritualpreneur can actually recession-proof your business, listen to the recording of a teleclass I held on this subject recently at:  www.coachingfromspirit.com/SPBlog.

Ken Foster from Shared Vision Network joined me on the call, along with Bill White (the Synchronicity Expert), Debbi Chambers (author of Manifest Success), and Chuck Abbott (Top Marketing Trainer).
