Where Do You Go From What The Bleep Do We Know?

There are a lot of Spiritualpreneurs in the making out there watching movies like What The Bleep Do We Know and The Secret – and if you’re one of them, you may be feeling like something is still missing.

The thing is, movies and ideas like these can provide a fragmented approach, because they’re not really showing you the specifics of how to apply these concepts in your business.

I’ve seen it happen many times – you’re watching these movies or reading books like Think and Grow Rich; you get really excited about it, but there isn’t really any accountability afterwards. There’s no one there to hold your hand and show you a structured way of applying these concepts – to say, “OK, this is what you do now.”

You can’t pick up the phone and call the producers of What The Bleep Do We Know when you run into a snag with applying these concepts; You can’t call any of the teachers from The Secret to ask something like, “You know, I’m really stuck on this one aspect of attracting – for some reason I keep attracting the same thing over and over, and I know I’m not focused on that!

That is why it is so useful as a Spiritualpreneur to have a mentor to support you – someone who has been there and done that; particularly someone that has had success in applying those principles and is willing to share their bumps and lumps along the way.

You want to be realistic – any teacher that says they didn’t have any bumps and lumps is not being accurate or honest with you. In order for anyone to really become a teacher, they have to walk the path – experiencing those same challenges and contrasts on their way to the other side.

It works the same for you as an entrepreneur. Whatever you’re selling should be something that you really have a passion about – that has helped you overcome challenges in your own life.  This heightens your authenticity and only makes you more successful.

Another part of what makes a good mentor is that they themselves are still constantly in the mode of learning. I know I’m always learning new things, and I’m honest with my students and clients about my own challenges and issues and how I manage those. I’m applying the same things in my own life that I’m teaching others.

Be very wary of a coach or a mentor that is not applying their own concepts. They may have gone through a program that’s all about learning the material and not applying and activating it themselves, which is something I feel can ultimately harm the client. You’ve got to have someone that’s walking the talk!

In my experience, you really can’t activate something in someone else when you don’t have it activated in yourself. It’s like a ski instructor that has never skied. How much credibility would you have as that ski instructor?

So, if you have found yourself watching those movies and reading those books and you want to take it to the next step, make sure that you are not adhering to the idea that you have to do it all by yourself. You will only get burnt out!

Every business is a work in progress – be OK with where it’s at now, and then focus your energies on where you want it to be.

Yes, I feel like that too, like when I finish reading the book success principle when I am reading it I know that it is true and such a great book. But when I have done reading it all those knowledge seem to be useless because no one told me step by step how to do it. Nice post..

Hmmm, I know what you mean about being weary of coaches that don’t apply their own concepts themselves… the ‘Do what I say, not what I do’ style of coaching!

I do find that the problem can be that those who really know what they are doing, are not always that good at teaching, while oftentimes lots of the people that claim to be coaches, are nothing more than glorified salesmen (sorry, salespeople!).

It can be hard to find the right coach!
