What Would it be Like to Have More Control Over What You Are Experiencing as a Business Entrepreneur?

What if you could decide who your ideal clients are, and then have them appear? How about if you could decide how many hours you want to work and how much money you want to make, and then watch it happen?

I used to love it it when Commander Picard of Star Trek would determine some action he wanted, and then utter that wonderful four-word phrase, “Let it be so,” and his intention was fulfilled.

Imagine that!  How great would it be to simply create your intention, utter the words, “Let it be so,” and know that it would happen?

How would things be different for you if that were the case? How would today be different? Another way of putting it is with a great question I’ve seen before, “What would you do differently today, if you knew you could not fail?

Believe it or not, it is possible!

The problem is, this whole idea runs against your conditioning from your earliest years. You probably didn’t grow up with the teaching that you can have control over your outer experiences by managing your inner emotions and beliefs.

In fact, you were probably told that you could not decide what you wanted to feel and believe.

Most people have the understanding that feelings are something that happen to you, and that you have to look in a book or listen to an authority to be able to understand your beliefs.

It’s the principle that everything in you is controlled from the outside.

So as a business entrepreneur that is assuming you have no control over your inner feelings and beliefs, you have probably found other ways to influence events.

Let me guess – they’re all outer solutions:

  • Work harder
  • Work longer
  • Do more

But the only thing that’s a good formula for is burnout! You end up feeling like a hamster on a wheel in a cage, getting nowhere fast.

There is another way. Read more

Do You Feel That You Are Alone as a Business Entrepreneur?

The journey to success is a bit like taking off an old tattered jacket and putting on an entirely new and different garment. Before you can enjoy the new clothing, you must be prepared to shed the old.

Your worries and feelings of living in a limited world of scarce resource, talent, opportunity, and luck are like that old tattered garment.

They can obscure your best intentions, literally robbing you of your dreams. You need to shed the old garment.

Have you ever awakened in the middle of the night worrying about…

What if the clients don’t show up?” Or,

What am I going to do if…” Or maybe just felt that sense of,

What am I doing wrong? Why can’t I get a break?

In my coaching business, there was a point where I could not break through to the success I wanted. I felt alone and it seemed I had to keep dancing as fast as I could or the money and work would just evaporate.

Sometimes my clients came in a rush and times were good. But when we had completed our work, the clients left, and it was as if I were unemployed, starting all over again!

If I was sick or couldn’t work, I didn’t make money. I constantly worried that it would all fall apart and I would have to go get a job.

Meanwhile, many coaches and other self-employed business professionals were doing well – they were enjoying healthy incomes and working the way they WANTED to work. I knew plenty of those people, and I started to ask, “Why? What were they doing differently that led to their success as a business entrepreneur?” Read more

What Does Maturity About Money Have to do With Manifesting Money?

If you’re like most people, you’re probably interested in manifesting more money these days.

A quick look around online and you can find classes promising everything from “Get Rich Quick” schemes to programs that teach you how to invest in the stock market, buy and sell real estate or even get your inventions on Oprah!

Even in our current economy, I believe that there have never been more opportunities for manifesting wealth, but at the same time, there are not many opportunities available that support you in developing a maturity about money.

A person with “money maturity” has a plan for their long-term wealth that includes more than just a balanced portfolio.

It also includes a life plan in which you are doing work you love and creating and spending your money in ways that are aligned with your Life Vision.

Top financial advisor, Cynthia Fick, offers you three tips to create a relationship with your money that is based on a deeper connection to your own Inner Guidance and a solid financial plan that reflects what is important to you.

Her Financial/Life Plan considers how your beliefs about money impact your financial decisions and your level of confidence in your ability to earn money and let money work for you.

Cynthia believes that every Spiritualpreneur needs to create a Financial Life Plan. Check out her three suggestions for creating your own: Read more

How do You Make the Shift From Entrepreneur to Spiritualpreneur?

The greater your ability to tune into, trust and act upon your Inner Guidance – even when logic would seem to dictate otherwise – the more you can experience your life from a place of ‘connectedness.’

Learning to connect in this way is a big part of making the shift from ‘entrepreneur’ to ‘Spiritualpreneur’!

You hold the intention to develop this ability by searching for ways to regain conscious access to what you already know intuitively.

You can find motivation in this search by discovering a ‘sense’ of what living a life from Spirit would look or feel like.

Are You Searching for Spiritual Balance as an Entrepreneur?

February 21, 2009 by Sharon Wilson

As someone that is a Spiritualpreneur, you may be tempted to measure your spirituality by how often you are in a peaceful, balanced state of Being as an entrepreneur.

However, balance is not a static condition.

Balance is dynamic and ever-changing – allowing for periods of both growth and rest. At each stage of your development, your spiritual task involves integrating your ever-expanding sense of Self with your society and culture.

With each experiential, emotional and intellectual connection that you make, you are building new patterns of neural connections and new patterns of Being.

So what about the times that you feel disconnected, in flux, ungrounded, or unsure of yourself?

Well, truly dynamic balance actually requires these periods of discontent, insecurity, anxiety and states of contrast in order to move you to a new state of balance – a state that transforms and transcends your earlier sense of Self and Spirit.

It is during these times of flux and crisis that you integrate all of the connections you’ve been making.

When these integrations move into your conscious awareness, you will often experience them as an “aha!” moment – an epiphany, or a moment of grace. Each integration brings you one step further along your path to Spiritual Enlightenment. Read more

What do You Think About This Interesting Observation From Christine Kloser?

February 20, 2009 by Sharon Wilson

Here’s a great article written by my colleague and fellow Spiritualpreneur, Christine Kloser – the significance of what she has written was quite striking to me, and I’m sure you will find it so as well.

Read on to find out more about her “Interesting Observation”:

“This really isn’t an “official” article, rather an observation about something I’ve been experiencing within myself after reaching the seven-figure mark in my business.

I’d been striving to reach this position in my business for several years.  It always felt so out of reach to me, until this year when everything changed at The Freedom Formula Experience (for me and the attendees).

When I realized I’d hit my income goals (largely based on the success of the event), it was difficult to believe.

Literally, I was pinching myself because I had been dreaming about this kind of success for so long, but now it was here.  So, what do I do now that I was LIVING that financial dream?

Well, after taking it in and celebrating my success at David Neagle’s Million Dollar Entrepreneur award ceremony, I started talking with my husband about the new car I wanted to buy, planning an extravagant vacation, and the jewelry I wanted, etc.

Then, I realized those voices in my head (that were wrapped up in the materialism of hitting a financial milestone like this) weren’t truly my own voices. They were the voices of what I thought I should do after a milestone like this… right?

I ought to express it to the outside world by acquiring fancy things.  Read more

Where Are You in Your Entrepreneur Journey?

This year at Coaching From Spirit, I’ve really begun to see becoming a Spiritualpreneur as being on a journey, and as a Coach it’s exciting to me to be able to share my own journey with you through these online tools like blogging and social networking and my most recent setup on Blog Talk Radio!

I created the show, Empowering Spiritualpreneurs, as a way to bring people together in the Spiritualpreneur community to share tips, insights and resources with you from their own journeys as a way of empowering you as a Spiritualpreneur in all that you are doing.

Recently I had internationally recognized author, speaker, coach and editor of Synchronicity in Your Life Magazine, the Synchronicity Expert, Bill White as a guest on my show, and he shared a powerful story from his journey as a Spiritualpreneur!

Bill began with talking about how he wasn’t always a successful entrepreneur – for him it was a journey from blue collar work to white collar to finally getting into entrepreneurship.

He talked about having a lot of ambition and an entrepreneurial spirit when he was in grade school. In fact, he actually started a business in grade school of making necklaces and selling them to the other kids in class!

Unfortunately, the mothers that were sending their kids to school with lunch money that was being spent on Bill’s business venture didn’t appreciate it too much, and he wound up with being called to the principal’s office and being told to shut his business down.

A simple thing, perhaps, but Bill made an important point – it happens a lot to children when they have bright ideas – oftentimes an adult’s first response is to shut it down (even for what may seem like a good reason!).

But the child, when told at such a young age that, “You can’t do things like this”, may very well end up internalizing the “You Can’t” part of the message, which can affect them more than they may realize.

It was not many years later that Bill witnessed the absolute collapse of his family – his parents separated, his grandmother died on Christmas, his grandfather followed soon after, and he was crushed!

He just couldn’t understand how all of this could be happening and he rebelled against it, which meant that by the time he got to high school, despite the fact that he had good grades, a guidance counsellor took one look at him and told him that she thought he was best suited for blue collar work…

Once again, Bill had an authority figure helping him to create the “You Can’t” belief – something that he accepted and internalized, and that caused him to follow a path on his journey that he didn’t even realize he had a choice in for a very long time.

He kept that reality, and by his mid-20s, Bill was working as a contractor.

He was actually making great money, but he was absolutely miserable! There was nothing in his external world that was fulfilling what he actually wanted internally.

The programming and the beliefs he was brought up in – the stories that he was telling himself – were keeping him in something that didn’t match and didn’t jive with anything that he really wanted to do or be.

Bill shared on my show that through a unique series of synchronicities, he finally reaches several stages of unfolding in a different direction, though not all of the things he went through were absolutely positive…

Bill had a dream that a guy came up to him and said, “Hey, you better get to a doctor – you have cancer.”

A couple months later, he found a tumor, and he was told that he had one year to live if he didn’t have surgery immediately. Read more

Is Being Sick the End of the World if You’re Self-Employed?

A couple of years ago I went through a time that was quite uncharacteristic for me – I was sick in bed! In fact, I felt so terrible that I couldn’t even lift my head.

It was made worse by the fact that I had a planning meeting scheduled for Saturday with a client, and there was no way I was going to be able to make it!

At first, this was a huge contrast for me.  When you’re self-employed, it seems like you just can’t afford to be sick!

I had to manage my energy around it.  I allowed myself to flow with that and realized that this was a point where self-care really was the most important thing for me.

I called my client and explained that I wouldn’t be able to make the meeting. And while I was speaking with the client, something just came to me!

I had been focusing all my thoughts on this day and on holding the energy–and out of my mouth came the words, “I have an idea. How about we pre-pave the energy for your meeting?”

I gave him instructions about how to take the group through the planning meeting, and because I was going to be lying in bed all day,  I told him I would hold energy for them.

Then I said, “If at the end of the day, you can feel the energy, then pay me. If not, then don’t pay.” Read more

When You’re Self Employed, Does it Pay to Ignore Reality?

February 17, 2009 by Sharon Wilson

I heard a great story from my colleague, Jim Donovan, that I wanted to share with you:

“The end of the month was quickly approaching and like many self-employed people, we were experiencing a cash flow challenge. It was, in all honesty, one of the greatest tests of faith I’ve experienced in a very long time.

I knew deep within my being, at the cellular level, that everything would work out. I said to my wife Georgia, “Don’t worry, everything is going to be fine, even though I don’t know exactly how, I know it will.”

I went about my business taking appropriate actions, holding my attention on what I wanted, being appreciative for everything I already have and yes, ignoring reality.

I know that there people who will say I was crazy or foolish. That we have to “be realistic!” There was a time when I might have tried to convince them I was right. Now all I do is smile, for I know better.

A few days before the end of the month, I went on-line to check my bank balance to see what checks had cleared. When I looked at the screen I almost fell over, because what I saw there was a very large deposit sitting in my business account. My first reaction was, “this has to be a mistake.” Read more
