Is Fear of the Future Holding You Back From Success in Your Own Business?

I want to make a bold statement. There is no such thing as job security.
There has never been any such thing as job security.
Are you letting the fear of or perhaps even the experience of getting laid off hold you back from having success in your career or in your own business?
This is a tendency that I have come to observe as a characteristic of humanity. People Future Catastrophize.
Something happens like:
- Your cholesterol test come back and it’s a little bit elevated, and it turns into, “Oh my gosh – that’s it – I’m gonna have a heart attack!”
- You hear a rumor that someone got laid off, and it’s like, “Oh no – that’s it – it’s gonna be me next – I know it!”
- Someone misses a payment, and the response is, “You see? It’s the economy – it’s trickling down to me – my whole business is going down the tubes!”
Have you ever felt that way before? Read more
Are Your Eyes Open to the Opportunities That the Universe is Giving you for Your Own Business?

I was extremely sick during my pregnancy – just very ill and nauseous almost all of the time. At first, it was very stressful and wearing on me, but then I realized that the Universe had basically provided me with this opportunity to not be working during my pregnancy in a job that was extremely stressful!
Now, I truly don’t believe that I would have delivered a healthy baby if I had stayed in that environment of working in a corporation.
So, my desire was to have a healthy baby, and the way that I was able to manifest that was by being sick during most of my pregnancy and not being able to work!
Let me tell you, it wasn’t a pleasant experience! But through listening to my Higher Guidance, I was able to see this as a contrast that indicated that something more wanted to be opened up for me.
During that time, the only time that I didn’t feel nauseous or sick was when I was praying, meditating, or listening to pure, classical kind of music. So I spent a lot of time like that in my pregnancy.
Because I took advantage of this time to do this things, instead of just worrying and focusing on how sick I felt, my own business was actually born shortly after my daughter was born! All of the time that I had spent in meditation led me to the point of being ready to see and understand what the Universe was offering to me.
Often when something goes wrong or doesn’t feel good in your life, whether it’s a health issue, a job issue, a relationship issue, whatever – the tendency is to kind of freak out and focus on the calamity – you get so tangled up in, “What’s going to happen?” that you can’t focus on anything else!
It’s important to see that things like this can actually be looked at as an opening – an opportunity from the Universe that is saying, “Something new wants to be born for you”.
Think about it – if you really are a vibrational match to a job that laid you off, you would still be there. If you were a vibrational match to a client that decided to no longer hire you, they wouldn’t have made that decision. Read more
Are You Prepared to Move Forward to Success in Your Own Business?

Before you begin with something like starting a pilot program, it’s important to surface up beliefs, patterns, and actions that are serving you regarding your own business offering by using and integrating energy management tools to really pre-pave what it is that you want to do.
When you read this excerpted transcription of a coaching session I had with a business owner about using these tools, really let it help you activate some new patterns and progressive beliefs regarding your own business.
This will also help you to see that you are not alone in what you may be struggling in!
Jane: Lately I really, truly believe that I have something to offer.
Me: That’s awesome. Did you hear that? Lately, I truly believe. You’ve activated that at a cellular level! That’s awesome – because before that you were like, I think I have something to offer, but will anybody pay me for me for it?
You were sort of ping ponging energy back and forth. I really want you to celebrate this because it is huge. When you get aligned with, “I’ve got something to offer”, it starts to make perfect sense, and now you’re just working out the details. That is huge.
Ok, what else? What other beliefs? What’s another belief that is serving you about your business?
Jane: I’ve come to the conclusion of what my core value offer is, and I believe that it is as a financial healer. I’ve really gotten in touch with that.
Me: So wonderful. That differentiates you from every other financial person out there that although that is your knowledge vehicle, you really are like a financial healer. That’s a whole new branding!
I’ve come to understand from contrasts of all sorts that what I’m doing is assisting people in healing themselves. As soon as you start creating words, you’re on your way. What is a financial healer? Have you heard anyone call it a financial healer? The universe is giving it to you!
So what am I? I’m a financial healer? It gets the action going! What other beliefs are serving you?
Jane: One more – that I have value.
Me: Oh, wow. I actually have value. I know you have value to your husband and kids. You always know you have value there. But now, what is it about? I have value in the marketplace?
Jane: Yes.
Me: Well, now that gives me goose bumps. Look at all of those three really lining up. As a coach, I’m always amplifying the beliefs that are serving a client, right? Why am I doing that, Jane? Why am I amplifying that for you?
Jane: It supports me and it brings my energy up so I really can feel it. Right now I can go out of this session and I’d be pretty high for awhile.
Me: And, it’s acknowledging you.
When you tell me a belief that’s serving you, the way I’m amping it up is two ways.
- One, I’m acknowledging the greatness of you and giving you energetic pats on the back for standing in this place and fully activating it.
- I’m also amplifying it by giving you the implication of that activation.
Now, the beliefs and patterns that may not be serving you as well.
Jane: The fear of rejection.
Me: What does that mean? What does that look like for you? Is it more like, “I’ll be talking to people about my program and they won’t want it?”

What Can You do in Your Own Business to Establish Yourself as an Expert?

What is one of the fastest and easiest ways to establish yourself as an expert in your own business niche with the least amount of financial investment?
Many people believe that the way you establish yourself as an expert is to write a book.
However, unless you are already established or have a ghost writer and staff, writing a book takes A LOT of time, energy, effort and investment.
Creating a teleseminar pilot program is a different way to quickly establish credibility, as well as leverage your time and energy so that you can have a powerfully streamlined and efficient marketing channel system.
To start with doing something like this in your own business, it’s important to begin with exploring the values of creating and implementing a pilot program.
A pilot program is a complimentary, four to six week program that is created to serve the people who fit your ideal client profile and who are going to give you testimonials to use for supporting your program.
This program will become the foundation for your various marketing channels.
Pilot Programs can establish you quickly as an expert. Publishing a book is not the only way to become an expert. I was able to position myself as an expert based on the programs I have created.
It then becomes something like a reverse engineering process; the workbooks that you create for your programs can easily become mainstream books.
Creating programs is one of the easiest and quickest ways to create a product and generate revenue quickly.
For me, I quickly determined that teaching feels easy, and writing feels much more cumbersome. One of my brilliances is that I reverse engineer things and that helps me leverage my time and manage my emotional energies.
Therefore, I determined that the easiest way for me to write books (or even blogs!) was to base them on the programs I have created. That way I don’t have a long, drawn out process of writing material that I haven’t experienced yet.

How Can You Get Your Mind Off of What May be Going Wrong in Your Own Business?

I mentioned yesterday how much I enjoy using tools in formats like charts, lists and bullet points – I find that when you write things out this way, it really helps you to see where you were, where you are, and where you want to be very clearly, which is why many of the spiritual energy management tools that I share are in these formats.
I know not everyone enjoys listing things out this way – it’s a bit of a personal preference! But if lists aren’t your thing, how DO you record your positive evidences?
One of the absolute, most effective ways of changing your vibrational output and bringing further success to your own business is in the idea of focusing on what is going right for you.
I know – it sounds simple to say – “Count your blessings” – right.
But have you ever really thought about how easy it is to be negative? I hear it around me all the time:
- It’s only a matter of time until I get laid off…
- With the economy going the way that it is, how can I expect success in my own business…
- I don’t have enough clients…
- How am I going to pay for this…
- I’m not good at sales…
- ON and ON and ON….
Do these thought patterns sound familiar to you? Do they resonate with you? Do you think you could come up with a couple more points to add to that list?
If so, there is something very wrong with the way that you are looking out at the world!
CHANGING THIS PERCEPTION IS ABSOLUTELY THE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT YOU CAN DO IF YOU TRULY WANT TO SUCCEED IN YOUR BUSINESS DURING THESE TIMES.
So then, how do you do it?
Do You Recognize the Patterns & Beliefs That Are Serving You in Your Own Business?

I was talking to a client the other day that had just begun applying one of the Energy Management tools to his own business called the Energy Blueprint.
He was telling me, “I went through looking at things that are serving me and things that are not serving me, and I didn’t even get to the second half of it, which is new beliefs and patterns!
“I was more moving through being aware and recognizing patterns that I have that don’t serve me with relationships with people to get the response that I want from them and stopping myself and saying, ‘Well, why did you say that? There must be a reason.’
“It was a matter of just noticing, just the ability to scrutinize behaviors or things that I’m saying and to stop and give thought to where they actually came from.”
I asked the client, “Well, how do you think that was that useful to you in starting to analyze that?”
He responded, “I think that it’s helping me establish new patterns just through the recognition. I think that part of it is that we grow up and we have all of this stuff that we become from our environment and not all of it necessarily serves us.
“Maybe it serves us then but it doesn’t necessarily serve us now and we carry it around. So it’s like virtual dumping if you will to make way for new things. That’s what I would say.”
Let me tell you, that client was pretty insightful on the value of doing this!
Whenever I do a new Energy Blueprint with clients, I usually suggest they do it on a quarterly basis. But I think there is also a real value in doing it even on a monthly basis to just look at the beliefs and patterns that are serving you.
You can break it down into business, money, relationships – any aspects that are physical.
I love putting things into charts and bullets and things like that. I come from corporate America and I really like these organized ways of seeing that I’m changing and shifting.

I’d like to share the story today of one of my favorite Spiritualpreneurs, Marlene Chism. Her 2nd book is being launched today, and I am just so excited to tell you a little bit about Marlene and what she has to offer.
10 years ago, Marlene left a 20 year stint of working in a factory to pursue her dream of becoming a motivational speaker and author. If you think about it, that’s quite the switch!
Have you ever had the experience of something like going from being a line worker to becoming a professional?
Factory work is mundane. You always work by the same people and you are always told what to do. You rotate every 30 minutes and you don’t have to think too much once you’ve been trained. Marlene was tired of it, and she wanted to make a transition.
She told herself over and over again, “If you can believe it, you can achieve it.”
But when she first set out to follow her dream, she was really scared. Read more
How Can You Build Relationships With Your Clients in Order to Serve Them in the Highest Possible Way?

It’s truly amazing to think about how much the world has changed.
It was not very long ago that people had no conception whatsoever of being able to communicate and interact with people on such a grand scale as is now possible to do!
I love talking to people and connecting with people. I’m a coach – it’s what I was born for!
But when I started my own business, all of the technology involved sometimes came up as a contrast for me. It was all very new to me (and still is in many ways – it seems like they come out with something new every day!) and if I had allowed it to, learning and using all of the necessary technology could easily have become a stumbling block and a source of frustration for me.
I was able to shift my perception around the use of all this technology (computers, the internet, etc.) by using my energy management tools:
Using all of these processes and others to manage my energy around this issue, I was able to begin to see technology in a whole new light. Instead of seeing it as a frustration and something that I had to depend on and worry about, I began to see it for what it is…
…an opportunity to talk to more people and build relationships with more people than I had ever been able to do or even conceive of before!
But it’s something to be careful of. In what is becoming an increasingly virtual world, it can be easy to become impersonal in your interactions with people.
What are some of the ways that you, as a Spiritualpreneur, can build strong relationships using technology with the highest Intention of truly serving the clients of your own business?
How Important is it For You to Truly Believe in Serving the Clients of Your Own Business?

I’m somewhat later than usual in posting the blog today, but I must say that I have A LOT to share!
First, you have to read this story:
“A few years ago I sat down with a man named Ron Post. Ron was about to retire from a ministry he had started 20 years before called Northwest Medical Teams. Northwest Medical Teams is an aid organization that sends doctors to volatile regions in the world to help the sick and dying.
…I asked Ron questions about how he had built his eighty-million-dollars-per-year ministry, with 98% of the money going directly to the work being done in the field. I asked him how he structured his time, how he delegated responsibility, and finally asked him what was the key to his success.
To answer the last question, Ron pulled from his pocket a tattered envelope filled with pictures.
For the rest of the meeting, the man laid down pictures of people he had met, the first of which was a young Cambodian woman who, at the age of 13, was being used as a sex slave to the Khmer Rouge. He told me they had rescued her from captivity and given her a new life…
As he showed me picture after picture of blind people who, because of a simple surgery, could now see, crippled people who could walk, the starving who had been fed, he told me their names. He knew their names, every one of them. I had asked the man what the key to his successful ministry was, and he told me through his stories the key to his multimillion dollar ministry was a love of people.”
[excerpted from Searching for God Knows What, by Douglas Miller, Thomas Nelson (c) 2005]
What if the way that you see the customers and clients of your own business could be similar to the way that minister saw the people that he was serving?
What Kind of Evidences Are You Looking for in Your Own Business?

Are you dealing with your own energy about the things that are going on in the economy right now? There has been so much energy focused around these issues that I find people are actually putting themselves in the position where they’re just waiting for the other shoe to drop…
If you have your own business, this message is really important for you to hear.
I was working with a client who recently said to me, “You know, I had 3 people this week whose credit cards didn’t go through for their monthly product, and 2 people who said they were supposed to get on the program and now they can’t because of the economy – they decided to scale back, and another person who said their husband has been laid off so they can’t pay for my services anymore…”
They were saying to me, “Just look at how there’s this ripple effect now with my clients…here you go – it’s all happening because of this economy…”
Another acquaintance was recently telling me, “You know there’s that glass company here in town and if the car companies all go under then that’s really gonna impact the glass company and it’s only gonna be a matter of time before this thing closes.”
All these people are LOOKING for the negative evidences! I like to talk about looking for the positive evidences, but here you actually have people looking for the negative evidences!
