Is it Really Possible to “Have it All” in Your Own Business?

When people get into business or even think about starting their own business, what often ends up happening for them is they end up working harder than they ever did when they had a job.

Have you ever felt like that?

I see it all the time.

You have been taught that you really can have your own business and have balance and have plenty of money and all of those things, but you probably have the mindset that you have to work really, really hard for it and that it has to be difficult.

Has anyone ever taught you otherwise?

I have a business degree, and no one taught me in business school how to have a business.

I was taught how to be a good employee.

So when I talk about growing and expanding your business and lifestyle, I really think as an entrepreneur and especially as a Spiritualpreneur that it’s so important that your business and your lifestyle are in alignment. They need to be congruent.

I see lots of people who work a lot of hours; they never see their family.

Maybe they’re making a good income, but they don’t have any time to spend it. They don’t have any kind of real relationship with people or their relationships are suffering.

When I first started my business, I ended up always feeling like I should be at one place or another.

When I was with my family I felt guilty that I wasn’t working on my business, and when I was working on my business, I felt guilty that I wasn’t with my family.

That kind of energy is incongruous. It creates a lot of stress and disease, and it creates situations that people have where they actually end up going out of business.

A lot of the “going out of business” experiences aren’t about cash flow as much as they are about the person being burnt out.

The thing is, you can have a lifestyle the way that you want it with the hours that you want – something that you get to create in the way that you want to create it. Read more

How Do You Create the Foundation for Taking Action in Starting Your Own Business?

Yesterday I talked about making a 30-Day Action Plan for starting your own business.  The thing is, there are many layers to making a plan and taking action, and the stronger your foundation is, the greater your success will be.

If you are creating an Action Plan for your own business, it is a good idea to always make sure to include the following foundational steps – taking the time to create what I call an Energy Blueprint:

First, surface up the energy that you have activated about whatever goal or project you want to work on.  No matter what it is, it’s OK.

You are going to write down the beliefs, patterns, evidences, and actions – anything that’s serving you about your business.

Next, identify the beliefs that may not be serving you as well.  Drill them down! You will write these down as well.

Following that, you will create one new progressive belief – something that makes you feel just a little bit better.

You can use what I call a Merry-Go-Round visualization to assist you in emerging a progressive belief by imaging a Merry-Go-Round in a children’s park.

When you are on this kind of Merry-Go-Round, you have to run around in a circle, holding onto the bars until you have gathered enough momentum, or energy, to jump on.

If you don’t have enough momentum you won’t be able to get on.

If you are running too fast and try to jump on, you may get tossed further by the momentum. You will be able to visualize through this if you are a vibrational match to the progressive belief by seeing and feeling in this visualization if you got “On” the Merry-Go-Round.

After you have emerged a progressive belief, you will use that new belief daily in an energy management tool called Scripting. Read more
